My name is Lizzy Greaves and I live in Southfields, South West London (near Dave)! I asked my husband, Phil to run the marathon with me. He said ‘you must be mad’ and next day went out to buy a bike instead!

I would not describe myself as a particularly sporty person. At school I would always try to find an excuse to get out of PE lessons. However in more recent years I have started going to the gym, swimming and more recently have run a couple of Nike sponsored 10km runs in the capital.

Running the London marathon has always been an ambition of mine and having reached my 30th birthday last April, felt that it was appropriate for me to attempt it in my 30th year! I have watched it year after year on TV in awe of the runners putting themselves through 26.2 miles!

Dave had decided he was going to run on behalf of Muscular Dystrophy and asked his friends to join him. I was the only one crazy enough to accept the challenge! Being able to raise money for such an inspirational charity helps the motivation when the training is proving tough!

I don’t think Paula Radcliffe’s record is in jeopardy but I’ll be pleased to get round and get my foil blanket!

If you see me out and about running the parks of South West London please do give me a wave!
